This movie was so boring it literally put me to sleep. Which sucks, because I had actually really been anticipating it. As far as I'm concerned, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, while not a *great* film, is considered a classic next to this trash.
this is not a bad film but robin hood it isn't they should have called "the outlaw" or "marrion" but it is very confusing when it comes to robin hood it it follows it different beginning to his life which makes no sense although it is not a bad film its spoiled by the fact that it makes its own beginning up and does not follow the legend i personally love the story of robin hood and have read quite a lot of books on the subject but this has not followed the story and the fact that robin got his name by imposing someone else what's this he does not have to become robin of loxley he his robin of loxley to start with i do like ridley scotts films but he ruined this and should not have called it robin hood more like the outlaws it is just too confusing its only at the end that it makes sense with the line of "The Legend Begins" i think he should stick to sci fi and don't ruin tales of legends stick to what you are good at Mr Scott and don't go ruining stories
Really, Punisher? Way to be mature. I say something you don't agree with and naturally the most reasonable conclusion you come up with is to tell me "F*ck you". I never once said I had a problem with Ridley Scott. I love Alien. I love Blade Runner. I love Legend, White Squall, Black Hawk Down, Gladiator, Hannibal. I thought the Duellists was underrated and I really loved Matchstick Men and American Gangster. That being said, he's not a filmmaker without flaw. Scorsese, the Cohen brothers, Spielberg, Lucas, Coppola, Stone all have duds in their film careers and Scott is no exception (1492: A Conquest of Paradise anyone?). As a lifelong fan of the book, I just didn't like his take on Robin Hood, that's all... Next time, try not to put words in my mouth... Oh, and yes, that was directed towards you, Punisher.
You should know it will be good. Classic. Plus I just watched Russel Crow in "State of Play". Needn't I mention one quality point. I'm such a dork- Ridley Scott.
RC is no stranger for being in a good movie...but ....it seems Robin Hood was a slim young man in the movie and book debut....we will see if it carries over in Crowes preformance....personally dont think you will see RC jumping around tree limbs with out a stunt double...but ...thats just me ...havent seen the movie yet....
only robin hood about this is the bow and arrow. Other than that it looks like a gladiator prequel =/. released date may 14 hmmm #2 at the box office. Iron man2 #1 :P
What the hell? The movie has a good look to it and a great cast, but as someone who enjoys the book by Howard Pyle, it looks like Ridley Scott's gonna rape this story like Wolfgang Peterson raped Homer's Iliad with Troy. I'm not saying it has to get every single scene and line down pat to the book 'cause that's not necessary, but at least bear some faithfulness to the story... That being said, I'll still probably see it anyway, just so I can make a proper critique of it.
