I was flipping through my On Demand and ran across this. "Righteous Kill" directed by Jon Avnet, starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. So I gave it a shot..

What I got was a pretty good movie. I'm not gonna tell the whole story here, but I was impressed with what De Niro and Pacino could put together in an hour and a half. Good acting, a good amount of screen time for all actors and a good twist.

To come across De Niro and Pacino paired together in this one, even such as a great movie they starred in like "Heat", I think they did pretty good together. They each portrayed characters much different from themselves and it created lots of drama, which basically supported the whole routine of the sliding story itself.

De Niro's character "Turk" was funny, in my opinion, as he expels his attitudes towards racial terms and let downs, like to Spider (Curtis Jackson/ 50 Cent) and the Mexican detective Perez (John Leguizamo). This added the laughs I could spoil outta of it, and it did well. His character I felt was missing some points though. Even when he demonstrates his social downfall with his "love" entanglement with Carla Gugino's character, det. Corelli, I sorta felt that he was always hiding something the whole time, not just the idea that he may be the prime suspect, but there was just that missed feeling in him you couldn;t figure out through out the film.

Al Pacino's portrayal of "Rooster" was condemning and surprising. He acts like the perfect cop out there, with no mistakes behind, and yes, he makes no mistakes in his trail, yet his character is both charming and touching in this tale. He helps out Turk whenever he can and hes always at his side, and he doesn't necessarily let off his cold mimicks to his suspects as his partner does, but he was one I defanitly looked up to

The story was a little confusing at first, barley introducing the "poet killer" but it unraveled well. The twist was perfect, with a perfect lead to it and the guessing just keeps you glued to the tv til the end.

Its also quite funny how each person in this film depicted actual detectives. You could see that fine line of acting predated to the beginning with De Niro's filmed take on his 'story', but it overall good.

This movie took me by surprise, but it also seemed that it would actually lead to an end that would actually surprise you, but it was good. The acting, the small suspense and the story itself produced a broad, centered story line, especially inspriring to cop lovers and haters and the NY life styles.

4 stars to this unraveling, quick timed tale.

First, I like the way you've improved on your reviews. Nice job.

Now... as for the rating... I totally agree. The twist was actually predictable and I saw it coming from a mile away. The acting was great, but what else do you expect from these two titans. The story had potential but fell short in my opinion. I actually had an alternate ending that might have been a better twist (in my opinion) on my review right here:

And Blizzard had even another alternated ending in mind if you read the comments below my review.

    Nice job. :)

I agree with Raoul, not the quality of film we are accustomed to seeing Pacino and Deniro in. Good review but a 2.5 to 3 for me.

Sucks that when these two titans finally get paired up, its a sh*tty movie with a sh*tty story and . I can't believe they would even dare put in 50 Cent and Rob Dyrdek with Pacino and Deniro. Absolute disgrace. Great review, but I'd say this is a 3, maybe a 3.5 for me.
