Requiem for a Dream: Review By The Boondock Saint

as strong as the first half is , the 2nd half fails to deliver and it all comes together at a very strange and depressing ending.

requiem is about 4 drug addicts whos lives are ruined with there drug addictions. the entire cast is terrific , esspecially marlon wayans (the better of the brothers) and jared leto as 2 buds trying to make a living with there drug sales. the first half is where we are introduced to the characters and there whole story is set up and we see them and there addictions. the second half is where we see there stories are coming to an end . the ending is very weirdly done and is VERY depressing with its very low deliverance of answers . the first half is very strong and is full of a great story and terrific ending . but the secod half is very less interesting and is hard to follow with its strange camera techniques ( u dont hav to move the camera everywhere to show us the dam grandma is an addict!!!!!) although the acting is still very strong . and then its climax was very strange and a bit confusing and really shows me the most depressing ending that ive ever seen. all in all : the movie is terrific , even with is slow moving second half , it really delivers a great film. but granted , it was better than the last drug addict movie i saw.....21 grams

i kind of understand what you mean by that, giving you a claustrophobic feel.

The 2nd half was filmed like that to make you feel uncomfortable. Claustrophobic.

And it's the mother not the grandmother.
