When I watched the trailer months ago, I really had some high hopes for this movie. Despite all of the fans of Repo the genetic opera calling it a rip off, I still felt this film would shine above that one. However, after watching it I have to say that the film only disappoints. For starters, the film does "borrow" the main story line from Repo TGO and it does sound like an interesting premise on paper, but in execution it becomes too complicated and boring at times. The first part of this movie is about the process of organ repossession but later simply delves into a run away thriller with two people running away from the "big bad guys". The film had some decent acting with Forest Whittaker shining above Jude Law, who does do a competent job, and Liev Schreiber is pretty good for the small role that he is in. But the script doesn't seem to do these actors justice and overall it suffers for this. The visuals are not that great for a movie with a 32 million dollar budget and is simply filmed in dark areas to give it a dark and abandoned look. Also the direction continually jumps around from comedy, thriller, action and horror making it hard to categorize this film into just one place. Overall, it is a decent film but I felt that the ending brought the experience down for me. I won't spoil it but in its own right the ending does reflect the real world and how corporations truly run the world.
