This film is a good yarn well told in the manner of a camp-fire tall tale.

Filmed on location north of Adelaide, South Australia, and in north-west Western Australia this is the story of a dog who, while he had a master he chose, he ultimately belonged to the community.

Solid performances all round, and some stunning scenes of the Pilbira in the north west of WA - just how good is a helicopter shot of a motor-cyclist in the red of Australia's outback with "Ëagle Rock" as the backing track?

Sentimental it is, but not sugary in the Disney manner, but rather understated in the Australian style.
