This is a remake from a title of the same name. The ORGINAL,made 30 yearsplus before Tomorrow When The War Began, Patrick Swayze fought the Russians and Cubans. No original ideas anymore. The katest remake, Total Recall sucked. I can see this one sucking as well.

This movie seems to have the same plot as the Australian movie TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN which is about an invasion of asian forces and they take a town hostage, But a group of teenagers take revenge and turn into guerilla fighters taking on the invading forces. Great movie though i urge you all to watch it TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN give it a try guys

To get some perspective. Red Dawn was lifted out the pages of the history books. It's really the story of the "Churchill Gang". A group of Dutch school kids carried on a game of sabotage against the invading Nazis, for a while in Holland. No mountain retreat, only sneaking back into their boarding school compound. They got caught and it didn't end good for them. These phonied up plots actually demean their ultimate sacrifices.

I thought this was on hold now, from the MGM/Spyglass bankruptcy/merger.

If it is well thought out and planned, this could be a great re-make. Like it has already been stated, when I was younger, the original was one of my all time favorite movies. The director's attention to detail in the mock-up versions of Soviet vehicles made that movie an instant classic. Please oh Please let this movie be as good to Red Dawn as Star Trek was to it's franchise.

I wonder how this will pan out. Will it be the russian and cubans in the heartland of america or something more modern. I love the original, one of my favorites when I was younger. Plus being from michigan I loved the 'wolverines' battlecry.
