I feel like this movie represented more of what The Punisher is actually about, Ray Stevenson was excellent. The problem with this movie was the supporting cast and how serious it seemed the director wanted us to be about the story. The violence is really what sold me on this one. The Thomas Jane version was better character and acting wise and more focused on the death of Frank Castle's family where War Zone was almost strictly revenge. The violence and gore in War Zone was SUPERB. I believe he killed over 80 people in this adaptation which for me is perfection. I think War Zone is worth the watch but the thing the will make it or break it for you is how much you hype yourself before you actually watch it. I went into this with absolutely no expectations because I hated Thomas Jane's Punisher but I have to say this one had my jaw dropping in a couple of scenes. I adored this movie, saw it's midnight showing when it released and bought the DVD at midnight on it's release date.

it was much better than Thomas Janes punisher by far but Jane is a good actor just not punisher like.... Ray Stevenson was brilliant and Dominic West and Doug Hutchinson were probably the best villains of 2009 i hope they make a another one and have Stevenson return and the director that chick is awesome good review -RubySoho but Dominic West's acting beats John Travolta's acting by far it was like watching someone who didnt WANT to be in the movie Travolta's acting sucked in that film
