Public Enemies: Review By SCREENWRITER

Johnny Depp hits the big-screen as Mr. John Dillinger. Christian Bale joins him as Detective Marvin Pervis. The movie is very good and well made but I

think it could have been a little better if the movie was a little more fast-paced. I thought the movie was a little slow-going and dull BUT I still really, really enjoyed 'Public Enemies'. I recommend this movie to all Depp and Bale fans and also to people who just want to have a good two and a half hours. See "Public Enemies".

ACTING:

Johnny Depp has showed us over the years that he can do just about anything. Johnny Depp, being one of my favorite actors, does a fantastic job in his role of John Dillinger. I think he was the perfect choice for this role. Johnny Depp stars in other movies such as "Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "Edward Scissorhands", "Ed Wood", "A Nightmare on Elm Street", and more. Christian Bale, being my all-time favorite actor, does a great job as Marvin Pervis. Christian Bale has definatly showed us that he can be a box-office hero the past few years. Christian Bale stars in other movies such as "The Dark Knight", "Terminator Salvation", "Rescue Dawn", "American Pyscho", "Batman Begins", "Shaft", and more. The acting in the film was not a bad-spot for this film.

DIRECTING:

Michael Mann directs this film and he does a good job but a little shaky. The direction didn't really bother me but I think it could of been less-shaky.

VISUALS:

The movie has good visuals. I liked all the gun-shots in this. They looked good.

THE GOOD:

The movie has a great look at the life of John Dillinger and it has good acting and visuals.

THE BAD:

The direction was a little shaky and the movie moves a little slowly at times in the film.

OVERALL:

Overall, good movie. This is a summer smash...but not a hit. Public Enemies has it's bad but it also has it's good. Overall, it's more good than it is bad. I say see "Public Enemies".
