Project X is a 2012 comedy drama movie.

Directed by: Nima Nourizadeh

Starring: Idiots with a plan

I am so tired of teenagers who whine, complain, and literally bitch about not being cool, not getting invited to the best parties, not being able to score the hottest chicks in their class, and the cherry on top (pun intended) argue with themselves about still being virgins. Feels good to let it all out in writing.

As far as "found footage" goes, this one actually works. This style is ideal because cameras today capture memories, and for a party like this, you want to record everything. But Warner Bros. could have left their opening credits out. it kind of takes itself too seriously.

Project X is basically an idea to throw the best high school party of all time so that the three main characters can finally be cool for the first time in their lives, and of course, get laid. Yes indeed! This movie is, how my generation says, "off the chain", "dope", "crazy", and all those other slangs you Americans use to describe epic events. It IS an epic event. It is that single party that you dreamed about your entire life as a teenager, and only went to W rated parties in your neighborhood. Also, the party of every parent's nightmares.

We follow Thomas on his 17th birthday with his only two male friends, Costa and J.B., your average losers (literally), as he is convinced to invite a little over 1500 people to his house and have fun. I don't need to describe the whole movie to you, since the first released trailer basically gave you an idea of what to expect. This movie is like a combination of Superbad and The Hangover. You have the virgin idiots, with a single goal, and then we see them drink till their livers die, and experiment with every drug in the alphabet.

Producer Todd Phillips, the director of both Hangover films, and the upcoming third, gives you exactly what you want to see. He doesn't cheat you at any time during these 88 minutes of madness. Now, as guy soon to be 21, I must say, I had the time of my life with this movie. Reminded me of my first college frat house party. I did everything like in the movies and don't regret it for a second. However, all fun said and done, this movie is quite ballsy. It promotes sex, drugs and violence. It even gives you an idea of today's teenagers, and how easily they are, have, and quite possibly, will be influenced by these deadly sins. We also get a look at how technology has managed to bring together people for any sort of events, but I've said enough to get my point across. The movie also explores the mind of a teenager who really just wants to be cool for once in his life. Buddy, this is not the way, even though it rocks.

Overall, Project X delivers what your expectations crave. Its fun to watch, and its the kind of party you will eventually partake in, soon, but it also shows you that going this far just to be cool and getting a little tail, won't get you anywhere in the real world, just a pile of trouble.

@bawnian-dexeus -- Great review, man. "The Hangover" meets "Superbad", you say? I really like the idea of that! Hopefully, I'll enjoy this movie as much as you did.
