Audrey Tatou (Da Vinci Code, Amelie) is great at playing this type of character. Her range of talent is boundless. One one moment, she could look very steamy and on others she look sad, like…. like when your pet cat shows its sad eyes, you can’t.
Her co-actor, Gad Elmaleh does an awesome job in this movie too, as a guy in love but couldn’t literally afford the love of his life because she has an expensive taste.
This movie makes good use of the majestic view France has to offer and how it still prides itself as the most romantic place on earth.
The wine, the food, the jewelry. Everything looks glamorous. It kinda makes you wanna spend your next paycheck on the nicest thing you can buy.
The directing is effective. It’s certainly not extraordinary but the filmmaker has great comedic timing and positioning. It plays with the suspense you get when you’re almost, ..almost caught with your hand inside the cookie jar.
I love the story. It’s brilliant. Usually back in the day, there would similar movies but most of the story were about con artist who met an ordinary guy who eventually becomes a con artist too.
Nobody gets conned in this one. It’s a comedy about living off rich people by being their…. escort service if you will.
No pimps… just a gold-digger teaching another person how to become a gold digger too.
I like how every scene is built just in the right time and moment that would elevate themselves to having her finally realizing that what he’s always the reason why he’s agreed to be in the same ‘business’ is so that he can be close to her.
I highly recommend this movie. Afterwards you will feel satisfied. There are some things money can’t buy, for everything else, watch PRICELESS!
