President's Day: Synopsis

Featuring performances by George Stover (John Water’s “Desperate Living” and “Polyester”), Ruby LaRocca (“Flesh for the Beast”, “Lord of the G-Strings”), and Shawn C. Phillips (star of YouTube’s “The Don and Murph Show”), “President’s Day” made its debut in at the Charles Theatre in Baltimore in February and has already received much critical acclaim.

Chris LaMartina, who co-wrote and produced “President’s Day” with his partner, Jimmy George, directed the film. LaMartina was named the “Best Local Filmmaker” by the City Paper in his hometown of Baltimore in 2006 and has also created video work for the Baltimore Museum of Art. “President’s Day” is LaMartina’s third feature film working with George, Their previous two films, “Book of Lore” and “Grave Mistakes” will be released on DVD nationwide in May through Camp Motion Pictures. LaMartina has also recently started a blog titled “Lost Trailer Park: Never Coming Attractions” (losttrailerpark.blogspot.com) featuring trailers he has created for fictional grindhouse movies.
