When you have the input of two of the most talented and promising actresses of our time, your bound to get nothing short of perfection. The adaptation of this bestselling author's work is simply magical! Its not diluted with phony spells or incantations, but amplified with the practical approach to modern superstition. The sisters, Gillian and Sally, live in a conservative neighborhood, but as assured the unconventionally, dynamic plot is intertwined in the story of the search for true love. They both grow up with their aunts who just happen to be... witches.Gillian, the 'lazy' yet wild one leaves home to pursue a more liberated life. They ultimately find both themselves immersed in the repercussion of their magical doings. However they soon learn to embrace their up bringing. Sally succeeds in breaking the family's curse, that being 'any man to fall in love with the women of their family will die'

Although some memorably key parts of the book were left out, this movie exceeds mediocre rank.
