Pirates of the Caribbean still goes to show that the action/adventure genre is still alive and thriving in cinemas around the world. It's ashame that Disney wastes their time on all these pointless, mind-dumbing kiddie films. Then again it's all about money. Only certain care about film value anymore. Still, this proves Disney's still got it in them, they're just too lazy to exert it.
The acting is likable and good. I like how they add all the pirate cliches to make this seem like that kind of movie. Johnny Depp will always be remembered as the adventurous and strange Captain Jack Sparrow. His performance is unforgettable and silly, this has to be his best work. Knightley and Bloom have great chemistry and great acting to add, a perfect match. Rush is outstanding and creepy as Captain Barbossa. And big thanks to the rest of the cast, even the monkey was great.
The special effects were too good for words. The CGI was awesome as well. The make-up department deserves a thanks as well. Depp's look is great.
Great film for all.
