Phantasm II: Review By killerman200

Phantasm 2 is, in my opinion, the greatest film in this franchise. I would tell you to check it out, but you'll have a hard time trying to find it. I was able to catch it on youtube, before it was erased. It's like they want this movie to be forgotten off the face of the earth. Why?

Again, just like the first one, bad acting, but Don Coscarelli, really, puts on his director's cap with this one. Making the protagonist and villian developed, than in the first one, which isn't needed for the Tall Man, because he was already great. It was almost funny how they just threw James Legros in there to play Mike, but i think he did a good job, though, fantastic in Point Break, by the way. Also another hand goes to Don Coscarelli for bringing the hero out of Reggie Bannister's character, whom is also named Reggie. Wow, this guy must've been bad with coming up with movie names in his writing. Mike's character is really played by A. Michael Baldwin. Well, at least Bill Thornbury got a fake name, Jody.

The story, although, still weird is better understood, and they try to go deeper, making it into an conspiracy. Paula Irvine seemed like a last minute thing, but she was necessary to delve deeper in the films plot. The silver ball's visuals continue to get better and better.

I hope if you want to, you manage to see this movie. Like i said, it's hard to get a hold of, like it's not meant to be seen. I still say, why? It wasn't terrible. With the low budget they worked on, i'd say that they did a good job with staying toe to toe with the likes of Nightmare 4, Halloween 4, Child's Play, and the big one of all Die Hard.
