Peter Pan: released in 2003, based on the novel and play "Peter Pan" by J.M. Barrie, rated PG.

The greatest part about this movie isn't the acting or the scenery or the script... it's the way that they captured the darkness in J.M. Barrie's tale. They brought that innocent romance into the film that secretly lived in the pages of Peter Pan.

Plot:

Wendy, John, and Michael Darling are three children with big hearts and even bigger imaginations. What they don't know is that a boy that does not belong in their world has been listening at their nursery window to the stories that Wendy tells every night, watching them, becoming curiouser with every word Wendy speaks. This boy just so happens to be Peter Pan. Peter Pan takes all three of them with him back to his magical world, Neverland... the land where no one grows old. They'll face merciless pirates, ticking crocodiles, and devious fairies, but the question is: Will they survive it?

Cast & Acting:

Jeremy Sumpter who plays the absolute perfect Peter Pan did an incredible job bring Peter to life. Rachel Hurd-Wood who portrayed Wendy also brought this mature yet still sweetly naive character into existence. Freddie Popplewell (Michael Darling) and Harry Newell (John Darling) are adorably hilarious in this film as well. But, there's always something "worser" (in Michael's words), there has to be a villain! Jason Isaacs who plays both Mr. Darling and Captain Hook creates this dark, mysterious, and ruthless Hook, but also managed to portray a father/somewhat uptight banker. And, last but certainly not least, the Lost Boys (Curly, Slightly, Nibs, Tootles, and the Twins) all bring a youthful sense of adventure to the film.

Directed by P.J. Hogan, who is said to be a "Peter Pan" himself, created a Neverland like never before.

Trivia:

Following the tradition, Captain Hook and Mr. Darling are portrayed by the same actor, in this case: Jason Isaacs.

The three dogs that play Nana are all male.

Jeremy Sumpter (Peter) grew 8 inches during filming, which meant that the nursery window had to be rebuilt 4 times to keep him from bumping his head mid-flight.

This is the first ever live action Peter Pan film (with the exception of the Russian version: Piter Pan).

Visuals & Special Effects:

First of all, the Jolly Roger (Hook's ship) was created in the filming studio and it alone was a masterpiece. Neverland's scenery is beautifully stunning, and the old England scenes are outstanding. It's unbelievable how positively real it all looks. And, the costumes, are an entirely different subject... with great color schemes and details.

This film will be your favorite with just a little faith, dust, and pixie dust!
