well I dont remember much about the original, but this remake has some of the worst acting in it its scary. Its about a small mining town terrorized by a crazy mine worker who goes apesh*t & wipes out all but four teenagers at the abandoned mine until the sherrif shoots him . Then it gets fuzzy from here cause he sposed to got buried alive in the mine. Cut to 10 years later & one of the teens that survived is the sheriff & he got the other guys girl cause he went crazy & is tryin to sell the mines. Well the OTHER chick is a freak & is HOTT & NAKED !!! She doin this truck driver & runs around in the nude until gettin killed by the miner. I forget the name. well the story goes on & I guessed who the killer was early on, but what makes this movie good is the BADASS 3-D , I mean the whole movie is crystal clear & you are really IN the movie !!! Plus all the horror effects are top-notch in my book. Not much CGI at all & thats how I perfer it !! So I would go see this at the theaters in 3D cause come on , ITS THE SH*T !!!!!

@pie - the review is almost two years old. The bashing is unnecessary.

oh so the original does have something to do with miners. I barely remember. Thanks for the heads up.

GIVE ME THE ORIGINAL ANY DAY:
My Bloody Valentine is a low-budget Canadian slasher film released in 1981 in the wake of the popularity of the slasher genre that had overtaken the 1980s. Considered an example of the low-budget cult films reminiscent of popular slasher films such as Halloween (1978) and Friday the 13th (1980), the movie was filmed on location in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia Canada.
The movie is also infamous for having had 9 minutes cut by the MPAA due to gore. Though co-producer Dunning confirmed that the excised footage still existed, attempts to release it proved difficult as Paramount Pictures had refused to offer an uncut version. LionsGate subsequently secured the rights to the film and released the semi-uncut version on January 13, 2009. LionsGate only re-instated 3 minutes of the missing footage to the film, so this is not 100% unedited as 6 minutes are still unaccounted for.

Honestly, I didn't really hate this film, but I was hoping for more fun. I didn't expect a good story, but I was hoping they wouldn't have a bad one either. Let me explain what I mean by this: (Slight Spoilers) First of all the action in this movie starts real suddenly. Everything is going real slow, a group of teenagers are exploring a mine where a bunch of people died. They are in there for less than 2 minutes and BAM, killer kills somebody. We get a real exciting sequence of people running and dying, then it is over. This is where the movie goes wrong.
After this we get sort of a boring story line that seems to rely on some thing that were not very well set up in the beginning of the movie. And for the whole movie we are guessing who the killer is. We have 2 choices, one we want it to be(Because he's a jerk), and one we don't(Because he seems like a nice enough guy).

I checked it out on IMDB, and the original was about coal miners, but the town wasn't called Harmony.

I have never seen the original so I do not have anything to compare the movie to, but I do not think that would make a difference anyway. The naked chick will not improve the movie for me, but Jensen Ackles will. I have heard about the acting being bad, but I will more than likely buy it anyway.
