Max Payne was a very slow moving movie for the first part of the movie. The reason why it was slow though is becuase it was explaining the story of the movie. The story was very good and kept going with it all the way until the very end. The last half of the movie really kicks it up and has a ton of action. I liked all of the special and visual effects. Thier were many slow motion scenes that made the movie cool. The visuals were very good and many of them were shots of tall long buildings. Mark Whalberg was very good and did a stellar job as Max Payne. Mila Kunis was meh, ludachris..well you all know he would suck ass! now here are the bads.

1, its too short only 96 mins

2, its not even that violent!

3, TWO scense from the trailer are not in the movie, the blood spray on the wall, and well i just forgot the other scene but anyways there were two scens taken out.

4, it cut off to much when somebody died and skipped to the next scene like some church pastor edited the film.

5, it dosent have the boss from the game as the villain in it! she is in the movie but not the boss.. wtf?!

6, its not all angels demon there raley in the movie and for such a short movie that seems like its building up on that!

and lastly the action scens in the trailer are it, no other action scens in the movie other than the trailer.

but that asdide its a rather decent flick and would recomend renting it unless your a big fan of marky or max payne!

    It was very unoriginal. It takes from the plots of Death Sentence, Hulk and many more movies. Look at Moviebuff123s review. He names some more to.

    if i made the film fans would be happy, :) 100% sure my plans would work. i have always wanted a max payne movie since it was released and now that this was a mix bag. i would realy like to hire the writer of the departed and the dark knight to write the script. then get zack snyder to direct and i guess bring back mark, and get shawnne smith to play mona since they look alkie! and have the film rated r and be at least 2 and a half hours long. and be rated r for strong brutal/bloody vilolence,some sexuality,drug content and languge. yep that was the big dream for the movie but it was crushed! :(

    lol, yeah it wasnt what i expected figured it would be great but just a watch. it was more action than crime story the game had lots of action but it was also a big crime film type story like departed or some mob film and the movie didnt so i gave up and decided well if there making a sequel bring it on, but make it more true to the game...PLEASE!

    Great review, and I like that you added your comments on pros/cons. How disappointing that 2 scenes are not even in the film. Wanted to ask you - do you think this could have been better if it had an R rating instead? Personally I never played the video game, but I do expect a movie based off a game to have major similarities in it; especially to please the gamers.
