Full of sensory delight, Sofia Coppla's take on Marie Antoinette paces itself much too slowly. The costuming and sets are beautiful, the music is current, Dunst portrayed Antoinette quite well, yet the film falls way short of brilliance. Not a masterpiece or even a great movie, but it does capture the essence of Marie Antoinette which I recall from many books about her life.
