But before he hits the showers for the last time, his old friend, Roger Dorn (Bernsen), comes through with an offer to manage the Triple-A South Carolina Buzz. But Gus' new career suddenly turns into a farce, when his new team turns out to be a world-class group of misfits.
Undeterred, Gus turns the team around and lands an offer to play an exhibition match against Dorn's major league team (the Twins). When the game ends up as a draw, Gus ups the ante and challenges the Twins to a rematch with a gamble that could make or break Gus' career. |
