Love 'N Dancing: Synopsis
When bored-with-life English teacher Jessica meets Jake, a West Coast Swing dancer, they have an instant connection. Both feel that the other can fulfill what is missing in each of their lives. But Jessica's got a workaholic fiancée who's not a bad guy when he's not on his Blackberry, and Jake's got his former dance partner who just won't let him away from the dangling carrot of a rekindled relationship. Jake and Jessica must try to elude all obstacles, romantic or otherwise, to stay focused on the goal - winning the World Title, and each other.
"Love 'N Dancing" stars Amy Smart ("Crank 1 & 2," "Road Trip"), Tom Malloy, Billy Zane, Nicola Royston, Caroline Rhea, Rachel Dratch and Betty White. Directed by Robert Iscove ("She's All That") and written by Tom Malloy, the film also features award-winning Swing Dance Champions including "So You Think You Can Dance" winner Benji Schwimmer. The film was produced and choreographed by four-time U.S. Open Swing dance champion Robert Royston.
"Love 'N Dancing" features West Coast Swing dancing, the origins of which can be traced to the Swing Era, even though the style looks nothing like the traditionally recognizable Swing dance. It is a smooth, slinky dance that can be done to soul, funk, country, rock & roll, pop and hip-hop. One of the most visually spectacular dance styles, advanced West Coast Swing competitors can dance to virtually any song on the radio.
