Live Free or Die Hard: Review By Ghostman

You know what you get for being a hero? Nothin'. You get to eat a lot of meals by yourself. Trust me, kid, nobody wants to be that guy.

When someone hacks into the computers at the FBI's Cyber Crime Division; One of the cops they ask is John McClane who is tasked with bringing a hacker named Farrell to the FBI. It's just when McClane arrives in Washington D.C. that the whole system breaks down and chaos ensues. In the age of "Techno-terrorism" it's up to old-fashioned McClane to stop them in their tracks before it's too late...

Just like last time, it's Bruce Willis teamed up with another guy that reluctantly tags-along to go on this crazy action adventure with him. Except, this time it's not Samuel L. Jackson but more of a younger teen who knows this new age technology Matt Farrell played by Justin Long. Justin Long isn't necessarily that "bad-ass guy" but he his a useful ally and a cool dude. Bruce Willis who know is a much older and wiser John McClane is out of one-liners and sounds more sarcastic "too old for this sh*t" retired cop. The main baddie, Thomas Gabriel who's in control of all this system crashing chaos is FX Original series Justified actor Timothy Olyphant. Who's last name even sounds like a movie villain. Timothy Olyphant gives us a nice performance. He's not real convincing of a character but Olyphant gets the job done. Also, the beautiful actress, Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays a small but important role to the story as John McClane's daughter.

Now the main problem people and fans of the franchise had with Live Free was that it was "trimmed down" to receive a PG-13 rating instead of the franchise usual R. No need to fear, this PG-13 Die Hard has plenty of amazing action scene one after another. Explosions from cars taking down helicopters, multi-intersection car crashes, even McClane flying a freaking jet shooting down bridges and destroying semi trucks! Now that's f*cking awesome! And if you're still worried about the PG-13 rating, go and watch the unrated cut, it's full of cuss words and blood and gore added to it; even includes McClane's full un-edited catchphrase.

The fourth installment in the highly entertaining and action packed franchise makes for a nice addition to the Die hard films. Bruce Willis, Justin Long, Timothy Olyphant, Maggie Q, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead make this an amazing action packed film filled with cool real-life stunts and it may not be "Classic McClane" but Willis still is a bad-ass even with his old age. Just goes to show, you're never too old to kick ass! So without further ado I have one last thing to say before I'm done for today: "yippie kay yay mother f*cker!"

@ghostman: I've actually never cared that much for these "Die Hard" movies. I've seen bits and parts of them on TV and don't see anything interesting, but I do like Bruce Willis and I can't wait for "G.I. Joe 2." :-)
