Lately I havent been able to find time to check out some of the new films that have recently been released. One film I kept hearing a lot of praise from was Law Abiding Citizen. After finally finding some free time I decided to check out the film for myself.

This film stars Gerard Butler as a man who loses his family to two murderers. His attorney, played by Jamie Foxx, had one sentenced to death while the other walks away with a slap on the wrist in turn testifying against other criminals. Butler's character doesnt take to kindly to the deal and sees it as the justice system is broken. Fast forward to ten years later we see one of the killers being executed by lethal injection but the execution was tampered with by someone trying to frame the other killer who is actually the guilty one. The other killer is then being played with by a mysterious voice calling his cellphone giving him instructions to keep from being arrested again. The voice instructs the killer to carjack a police car with the officer asleep inside. Once inside the killer pulls out the gun of the police offer and tells him to get out of the car. Outside the car, the police officer starts to plead with the killer that he will never see his family again. The gun then shoots poison into the killers hand. The police officer then turns around and reveals himself to be Butler's character who responds to the killer, " I will never see my family again because you took them from me." From then he proceeds to torture the true killer while he videotapes it. The police find out that Butler's character owned that land and arrest him in having a connection to the killing. Once arrested Butler decides to exact revenge on everyone who had anything to do with his family's case to show them what true justice should be like. One by one everybody who was involved is killed. Butler is behind the whole thing but nobody is able to stop him until Jamie Foxx's character finds out the truth and the secrets behind Butler's past.

The ending was rushed and a little weak but I thought this was a very good film. Nothing dragged along to make the film feel endless. There were a few plot holes I wished were filled in but overall this films was very enjoyable. I highly recommend this film. Great action sequences, acting, and visuals. You'll enjoy being on the edge of your seat the whole time.
