The Farrelly brothers always get credited with There's something about Mary, but TSAM is nothing compared to the hilarious 1996 Amish bowling comedy called Kingpin. 1996 was good for three reasons. First, it was the year I was born. Second, The Coen Brothers released there second best film, Fargo. And third, Kingpin was released. Kingpin is about a 70's bowler named Roy Munson, who was "munsoned" into a cheap deal by a rival bowler, causing him his left hand. Twenty years later, Munson is an overweight slob who can't pay his rent, when he sees a kid with real potential at the bowling allies. This sounds like the classic mentor tale, but it takes a big turn for craziness when the kid he sees is actually Amish. It then turns into a hilarious road trip to a bowling competition in Vegas. The best part of the movie is the actors, especially Woody Harrellson as Munson, and Bill Murray as the guy who cost him his hand. See this laugh riot, and appreciate it, niteowl demands it!
