I remember being on vacation in my home town and walking into my favorite comic shop. The guy asked me if I had read Kick-Ass yet. I hadn't. Luckily they had just released issues 1-3 in on giant sized issue, and I was all caught up. I was hooked after the first few frames. I had never read anything quite like it and I wanted to tell everyone about. And apparently a lot of people felt the same way. All the back issues have been bought up, I saw #5 going for $30 bucks at wonder-con and the hype for the movie was insane.

Now comic to movie translations always have their ups and downs. Every fan boy hopes for the best . That the movie will stay true so everyone one else can see what they love on the big screen and Kick-Ass was no exception. As usual they change certain things to make the story flow better on screen and to make it appeal to the masses a bit more, but they never changed the tone, they never held back when you were expecting something big and raw, and at times they even up the action more than the comic. Another thing I loved about the movie is that unlike most comic to movie features this one gave you even more insight into certain characters than the comic did.

Like I said this "review" is for fans of the comic that are on the fence about seeing it or wanna know how good I is. Its great, youll love it, its everything you want it to be in more. Hit Girl and Big Daddy still the show. Their relationship comes through so well on screen and when Big Daddy dies its way more intense than the comic and that's saying something. Cant wait for the second story of Kick-Ass (Balls Out) hits the shelves.

Thanks, yeah I should put something up. I was hoping the fan of the comics would be a heads up. Is there a button somewhere so I can edit it or delete and repost it?

Nice review, but maybe a spoiler warning for people that haven't read the books.
