Jurassic Park III: Review By Josh

The weakest of the series ... less of a technothriller and more of a b-monster movie.

The weakest of the series, with a virtually non-existent plot and the least interesting characters of the three films. It would have benefited more from Laura Dern's having more than five minutes of screen time. Tea Leoni's character is an offensive gender stereotype, idiotic and obnoxious, and Alessandro Nivola is dull as the sidekick (Vince Vaugn was far better in this role in the second film). Also, the presence of Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldblum), who was the philosophical-moral crux of the first two films is sorely absent here, which is probably why it feels like less of a technothriller and more of a b-monster movie

Still, the visual effects are top notch, and there are some pretty good action scenes, most notably a battle between Spinosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex (who looks puny in comparison with the former).
