Junebug: Review By chrisknagg

a brilliantly acted flm with Amy Adams showing that she is one of the most gifted actresses in hollywood. This is a film that while slow at times is genuinely effecting.

Junebug is a simple story, girl goes to meet her inlaws and they turn out to be a bit odd, however in the way the film is made and written you never feel as though it will be another dysfunctional family drama. the cast are sensational, but without doubt it's Amy Adams' performence which will br the thing that you remember most, she is cute enough to pull off the more comedic moments but can still manage to put a tear in your eye during some of the more dramatic scenes. One scene in particular, a rather simplistic scene involving Adams and Alessandro Nivola just talking, was enough to give me a lump in my throat. It's a shame that a film as great as this is let down by the overused story, as well a he fact that it is at moments a little too simplistic.
