This is a silly movie based upon a real life silly story. In 2002, in the immediate aftermath of 911 - the tragedies, the coping, the grief, the sorrow - this person named Julie Powell decides that her life has no meaning, so she decided to selfishly cook, of all things, all of the recepies from Julia Child's French cookbook. Julie Powell decided to do this in one year, and wrote about her experiences on a newly created blog. HOW SELFISH AFTER THE HORROR OF 911!!!!!!!!HOW ABSOLUTELY SELFISH!!!!!!

Meryl Streep is absolutely wonderful as Julia Child, but Amy Adams - a fine actress - overacted with too many unnecessary emotions and was unnecessarily too articulate.
