Making his shiny silver screen debut is Iron Man, the hero who's was built and not born. Story takes place in present day 2008; and centers around Tony Stark, a "genius billionaire philanthropist" as he put's it and a high tech weapons designer for Stark Industries. Soon Stark is held hostage from Afghanistan forces and must build a suit to escape and protect the people as the one and only Iron man!
Robert Downey Jr does a awesome job at playing our lead action hero. His charisma and sarcastic one-liners ooze off the screen in a joyful euphoric viewing experience. As Assistant Pepper Potts, we have the wonderful and beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow who is quit peppery attitudes which garners for her being called "Pepper". Both of the two share excellent chemistry between them on screen. Their are some moments of sexual tension between the two but it's all classy. Then we have the cool and fun Terrence Howard as Stark's best friend James Rhodes. The guy enjoys acting as his character who will become War Machine in Iron Man 2, but this time, played by top-shot Don Cheadle as Howard's replacement. Let's not forget our main antagonist villain fighting Iron Man is a bald Jeff Bridges. He ain't no "Dude" in this film; instead he is cold hearted full of coal Obadiah Stane who creates the "Iron Monger".
This all dwindles down to a hand to hand, heavy metal showdown in the film's climax. The fight is short and sweet, yet satisfying. I wanted more, but the action in Iron Man is moderate and tolerable but not too much. The AC/DC soundtrack is another thing that makes this movie a great film. With grade A acting, awesome special effects and action, wonderful story writing, Iron Man is an awesome first entry from marvel Studios that will eventually lead into The Avenger's. Also not to mention, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson is just another reason to see this movie!
How does Iron Man fit into The Avenger's? :
During a post-credit after scene, Tony Stark arrives home only to be welcomed by SHIELD Agent Nick Fury who asks him to join "The Avenger's Initiative".

@ghostman: Agreed about Rachel Weisz. She was terrific in "The Mummy" films and she is one of my all-time favorite actresses. Maria Bello had no spirit in the character at all and failed to do what Rachel Weisz did in the previous ones. And to tell the truth, I actually liked Katie Holmes better because I thought she acted really good, but I just couldn't see it for Maggie Gyllenhaal. I really couldn't. And I still wonder how Mark Ruffalo will do in "The Avengers," because I thought Edward Norton was terrific as the Hulk and he is my all-time favorite actor.

@ROFLitschristian You didn't like it much? I'd say see it again before Avenger's comes out and that'll change your mind.

@redcameraman Katie Holmes, replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal in "The Dark Knight." Katie's replacement for TDK was much better. watching the film, it seems to me that Holmes just wouldn't be able to fit in right with all the chaos, plus Gyllenhaal being a much older Rachel felt mature to me rather than young and innocent like she in Batman Begins. I hated the replacement choice for Rachel Weisz, Maria Bello in "The Mummy 3." She was just awful and she was one of the worst things I didn't like about that film.

@ghostman: My overall favorite Marvel Avenger is the Hulk. Great review. This was a cool film indeed, and it's way better than the 2nd film which I thought was only decent. I also didn't like Terrence Howard's replacement that much. I really hate it when they replace an original actor with someone new who's not that good.
EXAMPLES: Edward Norton, replaced by Mark Ruffalo in "The Avengers"; even though the movie is not out yet and we can't tell about Mark Ruffalo's performance yet, I still have doubts he'll be better.
Katie Holmes, replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal in "The Dark Knight."
Rachel Weisz, replaced by Maria Bello in "The Mummy 3."
Each and every one of those original actors I liked way better than their replacements.

@ghostman I actually wasn't much into the first Iron Man. I found it to be incredibly boring. Maybe I should watch it again just to be certain... but I'm pretty certain.
Haha, good review though.
