Sean Penn adapts Jon Krakauer's novel about the young idealistic Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch), who leaves his life behind to go to the Alaskan wilderness.
It will be interesting how much of the story they tell. It looks like he is going to be a faultless hero. They will have to leave out the fact that he completely vandalized a Forest Service station. The place where he died was only a couple of miles from a highway, and a highly traveled recreation area. He could have used a little less idealism, and a little more wilderness training. He died doing what he wanted to do, but there was no reason for him to die. Simply a lack of respect for nature's power, and a lack of respect for human frailty...
I believe this movie will have the best cinematography since Castaway. I cannot wait to see this movie. I would love to live a life in the wild, free from worry, and living on the land of mother nature. This movie looks like a sure fire escape from the normal.
