I was very excited when I first heard of this film because I find WWII movies very interesting. I think movies with Nazis are great, mainly in part to the Indiana Jones movies. But just the thought of these two things coming together made me very excited.
I felt the story was interesting and fun. This movie pulled me into it emmediatley. The only thing is that I felt that it wasn't like the usual Q.T. interesting talk. It may have been just because of the time the movie was taking place in. None the less the dialogue in the movie was interesting, but not the same as the others. I cant complain I guess. I felt all the actors were cast well, I found it interesting to see Mike Meyers in one of a few non comedic roles. If anyone noticed, the narrator for some of the movie was Samuel L. Jackson and the person on the phone near the end of the movie where the German General was asking for many things, Harvey Kietel was the voice on the phone. Q.T. had to fit those two people in there somewhere. I thought it was a little funny and I felt like it was a nod to movie nerds and buffs. Obviously I loved the directing job done buy Q.T. I felt that there was a certain feel with the movie that you wouldn't get without Q.T. One decision that was made which I don't know who would be to blame, but the subtitles in the movie didn't have the translations sometimes. It would just say the word in that specific language and sometimes flip-flopped between translating a certain word then turning around and not translating it. That bugged me a little. I loved the music used in the movie because (if I'm not mistaken) it wasn't really period music. He tried to keep the music more modern which I enjoyed.
There were many times in the movie where I would be watching a scene and just mutter "Wow that was nice." or "I love that!" Just some of the visuals were so nice to look at. The projection onto the smoke in the theater and the cigarette that was flung onto the pile of film are just a couple of examples of the wonderful visuals given to us.
Over all I enjoyed this movie extremely and cant wait for Q.T.'s next movie outing.
