This is a great film, though it will probably be received as crap by many people who expect to see a 'Raiders' film. Let me tell you this isn't Raiders, so get over it. You can not expect the same stuff to be repeated over and over again, there is no point. Pick a novel if a character has the same adventure over and over again would you keep reading it or go to something fresh and new?

This film is grand, a return to Indiana Jones. shia is awesome molding into his character with ease. Harrison Ford is still the man, kickin ass and standing tall. Cate Blanchett rocks as the russki villian. Harrison moves a little slower but the action is on point. The humor is there and it was just what I expected from anew indiana jones.

Now in the theater, a guy near me bitched about the crystal skull being fake and the same with aliens. Good God man! Every adventure (film) Indy has gone on is based on legend or myths, just because you didnt learn about the Cyrstal Skulls of South America in Sunday School doesnt mean they dont exist! Does it really matter if the existed or not its a movie?!?!?!Hell I dare each of you to find one spot in the bible that mentions the Holy Grail, cause its not there. The Holy Grail is a myth, built up with Aurthurain Legends and what not, and only the Catholic Church actuals references the Holy Grail. so whats the big deal if Indy goes looking for an alien artifact, whats the difference between an alien artifact and a christian artifact that came from god?? So people are more willing to except Christian myths, but aliens are out of the question. Think about it man, the really only difference between aliens and gods are labels, both are supernatural to humans both are unexplainable so get off your high horse and enjoy the freakin movie! for more information pick up a book on sumnerian or egyptian myths and legends, or The 12th Planet by Zachiria Stichin.

Im justing getting back from a second viewing of this film. I have to say I enjoyed it as much the first as I did the second time around. I really actually liked the part of Indy being involved in studing the remains of the crash in 1947 and the tie in with the crystal skull. I also really liked the way the film was shot, the camera angles and various shots were straight out of the 50's b movies, the fight in the dinner between college jocks and greasers was great. Everything played out just like I expected of another Indy flick. The ending I feel was pefect, the fadora flying up to Shia and Ford taking it away I think means Shia isnt ready yet for the role as Indy but one day maybe, and remember if they do make a another film it wont be Mutt Williams, his name is Henrey Jones the Third. Again its a quality adventure film one all can enjoy.

Good point "AndrewRyan." Makes his insult seem rather pathetic.

CARNAGE: Older Indy; Younger Indy; (shrug) He's still got it. And the Mayans & Crystal Skulls? (Shrug again) Just look them up and read into the lesser & common known facts & theories. You'll find the answers you seek. AND I wasn't insulting naysayers, just encouraging them compare & contrast action scenes/historical accuracy to find the ever present similarities. Besides, if there were more '30s Matinee Serials on TV, then naysayers would be comparing the originals with them, and not like them as much either, so (shrug), I'm just saying. But hek, whatever rocks your boat!

EXCELLENT! You bring up the same things I've been fighting the naysayers about!

A cup? (unknown if real or not) A box? (existed at one time, but may not anymore) A rock? (mythological/religious) And...uh, what? YES!!!! A Crystal Skull! Finally! Something we know that ACTUALLY still exists, or exists at all!! And it's not totally mythological! But then again...who cares if it's real or not? There's just as much evidence to support the claim that God exists as there is about Alien existence! And that's not very much. God is supernatural. An Alien being would be natural cuz it'd be real, but still incomprehensible by most humans. But this is an Indy movie!!! And those who know relatively anything about the Mayans or the Crystal Skulls would've expected aliens to be involved in the plot. Plus, it's not like Indy fights them or goes to space! He's just as much of a non-believer in aliens in the film as the naysayers are! So to the naysayers: GET OVER IT!!!!!! 19yrs later and all they got is complaints! I for one am pleased that you brought up these EXCELLENT POINTS as the core to your review!!!!

Long live DR. HENRY "INDIANA" WALTON JONES JR.!!!!!!

Very good review. The second best yet. Like how you showed that to me. I agree. Who cares what the thing is, a cup, a stone, a grail, a box. It's only a movie. And yes this is very much not like another raiders. Like I say each IndI is unique like and different. Only key things like character, hats and such stay the same. Very good movie, very good review.
