Indiana Jones has been put in the time warp 20 years into the future from the last two. Returning stars Harrison Ford and Karen Allen both give strong performances, but their "supposed" relationship never goes past anything but playful bickering. The entire heart of this film has been ripped out (much like Temple of Doom though not literally). It is obvious to the audience that Spielberg and Lucas were not trying to offend anyone so its not bad, but its not a superior film to the others. Basically, it fun, silly, and entertaining in the perfect blend of astounding action sequences, amazing special effects (which by the way do NOT take away from the movie), and great acting. Cate Blanchett gives an amazing performance as a newcomer, though Shia LeBouef's character is almost too cheesy. The only thing that the film lacked was some classic moments. There was one (satisfying) scene with creepy crawlies and only one very brief encounters with snakes for Indy. And the ending seems very rushed. (If you have seen the movie, and I won't spoil the ending if you haven't, it seems like Spielberg found leftover props from Close Encounters and used them at the end.) All in all the movie is a blast and definetly worth your time... but be warned...It won't knock your socks off.
