I Am Legend: Review By hitman51657

I like Will Smith, I like his movies, but he missed the mark with this one. No, I should re-phrase that, Will does a very good job of acting in the movie but the director & producers totally miss the mark! The movie as a whole sucked! If you aren't a SiFi buff and have read the books you don't have a clue what is happening until the very end. My parents are in town for the holidays, so while the girls are primping for tonight I thought I'd take my Dad to a movie to get the new year started. Since we both like Will Smith action movies it was a no brainer what we would see..."I Am Legend". My dad is not a SiFi guy he hasn't read the books and he had no clue what was going on until the last 15 minutes when they finally told you about the how it started, the exact cause, how bad the outbreak was and who was left...except for the "GOD" part?? Where did that come from??? We left the theater completely depressed and I felt that somebody had just stolen $20.00 out of my wallet! If you just like Will Smith and the overall movie doesn't mean anything then you'll like this, If you just like special effects and the overall movie doesn't mean anything then you'll like this, but if you're like me and go to the movies to be entertained and the actual movie quality and plot line means something then you'll think this one stinks! It's true to the book in name only. Will Smith does a good job of carrying the movie in fact without him the movie would be a total flusher! I blame the Directors & Producers for this bad movie not the actors, they did their jobs well they just should have picked a better script to apply their skills too. I'm sorry, 1.5 stars is the best they'll get from me on this and they wonder why people don't go to theaters more? I want my $20.00 bucks back!!!!!
