Oh. Now it makes sense. The first time I heard that there will be a I Am Legend 2, I was like "What? How will they make that work? Will Smith's character is already dead unless they make up a story that he was able to escape in an almost impossible way before the zombies broke the glass wall."
So, now I understand how it will happen. It's a prequel. Nice. At least I would be able to watch the story unfold before the pandemic. ;)

i think there all morons, weather the first movie is off from the book or not, why would you make a movie like this with will smith knowing it's going to be a freaking hit and have him die at the end of the movie???prequels aren't meant for second freaking films.....But that's hollywood for ya...OHHHH MYYYY the first film grossed 554 mill and it was all because of will, how can we keep this going???You should have thought of that in the first freaking place and thought of your own movie rather then basing your movie on someone elses' thoughts and words only to make the first movie backwords

Sort out the CGI or lose it and do practical make up. As this version of the film wasn't as accurate as the Vincent Price film and anyone who hasn't read the book doesn't realise that Neville is actually meant to be the bad guy, hence the title as he is the boogey man to the vampires. Then maybe it could bend that way and make him a bit more of a mad professor type.
