The story insists of a fourteen year old "Hayley Stark," (Ellen Page) meeting a thirty-two year old, "Jeff Kohlver," (Patrick Wilson) its all good untill "Hayley" suspects "Jeff" to be a pedophile. So she takes matters into her own hands. A intersting story if you ask me but a very very good one, like nothing I've ever seen before. The acting was ellegant, Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson were excellent, Ellen Page in my mind is one of the actresses of the future and Patrick Wilson is simply great, just great. There were some other actors but they barely had any lines such as Sandra Oh, Odessa Rae, and G.J. Echternkamp. Thats the whole cast. Five people. Five people that made the acting in the movie ellegant.
The director David Slade did a near-perfect job. Spectacular. You may know him from "30 Days of Night," or the terrible "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." He is a very good director despite directing "Eclipse." I did love "30 Days of Light," it was thrilling. The visuals looked as real as real can get. They showed a city enviorment, open road, houses, and blood.
"Hard Candy" is a movie all of us movie buffs should see. Ellen Page, sickening, Patrick Wilson, fantastic. The story, interesting and I mean that in the best way possible, Directing, spectacular, and the visuals, real as ever. "Hard Candy," is a must-see, buy it, rent it, just see it. You will be surprised on how disturbing this film will get. It crosses the line, breaks the barriers.
