... a more politically incorrect Sister Act 2.

Hamlet 2 is a grotesque parody of the conventions of dramatic narrative, and it occasionally works. Steven Coogan's comedic nuance lends some likeability to an otherwise obnoxious character, though it's Catherine Keener and Amy Poehler in minor roles who really give comedic bite to this film. Its script is uneven, swaying from satire to something grossly overblown, though this is by far the funniest thing the mediocre Pam Brady has ever written. Think a more politically incorrect Sister Act 2.

How the oddly compelling "Rock Me Sexy Jesus" wasn't nominated for an Original Song Oscar is beyond me.
