There are a few questions I'd like to ask this film to show what is wrong with this film. My very first question, why was this called 'Halloween III'? This film has absolutely nothing to do with John Carpenter's 'Halloween'. Firstly, if this had something to do with 'Halloween', then the character Michael Myers would have been in this film. He is not in this film at all, expect on a TV showing an advertisement for John Carpenter's 1974 'Halloween'. I think they were trying to make that scene funny because the title of this is called 'Halloween III', but it wasn't really funny at all.

This is NOT a sequel to 'Halloween' or 'Halloween II' at all. None of the characters from the two Halloween movies at all, with also means none of the actors and actress are in this as well. Not even Jamie Lee Curtis is in the one, though her acting really dumbed down in the second Halloween. That's another question to ask. Why her acting in the first was terrific, but in the second her acting was terrible in the second? Still, that question isn't about this film so shouldn't be ask now.

The story doesn't follow anything to do with the Halloween films as well. Plus it doesn't play any of the music themes from the other Halloween movies. I usually don't pay attention to background music in films, but this didn't play any of the Halloween music themes in this movie, except it only plays one theme from the Halloween movies near the end.

Unfortunately it plays the theme at a very inappropriate timing in the movie. In fact it shouldn't have played that theme at all in the movie. Not when it plays only one theme from the Halloween movies in only one scene throughout.

This movie tries to be a shock-by-shock, but from all the mind-numbing situations and some random dull scenes that happen out of nowhere it turns you off more and more when it tries to shock you. I think this director tried to do the same theme of scares from what John Carpenter did in the first Halloween movie, but it wasn't the same. The only reason why this seems like a shock-by-shock is because they use the same chilling background music in the first Halloween movie, but music needs sense and something unexpected to happen to make it shocking and chilling. That is why the first Halloween was very shocking. You will not be shocked at all in this.

Like I said before, this has nothing to do with Halloween. So that still asks the same question. Why was this called 'Halloween III' if everything in this film has nothing to do with Halloween at all?

I also should ask another question. Not only this was called 'Halloween III' but this was also called 'Season of the Witch'. Why was it titled 'Season of the Witch' right next to 'Halloween III'? This movie has nothing to do with any witches. It's pretty pathetic somebody would not only entitle this 'Halloween III' but right next to it he titled 'Season of the Witch'.

Well this is more than a crappy movie. Other than the film's title, the plot to the story is weirdly insane as if it was a storyline for a comedy, but because this is a horror that just makes this film even worse.

The story is a group of men in suits kill people in the most mindless way of making their faces look like an old person. The reason why they kill the people is that they talk about these masks that a silly company called "Silver Shamrock" makes. This annoying advertisement keeps popping up on T.V that plays a familiar stupid tune saying "A few more days until Halloween, Silver Shamrock" but it doesn't quite go like that. It repeats a few words over and over again while it repeats its same lyric over and over again.

The advertisement tries to make children in the U.S.A buy and where these masks they sell on Halloween. When its Halloween night they put on the masks and watch TV, but that's not all. The company has something very evil in the masks. When the kids watch the TV on Halloween, the masks melts on the kids face killing the child and then disgusting bugs and snakes comes out of the masks spreading everywhere. So a married man and a young girl go to see what the company is trying to do as they later find out that the company is trying to get rid of every child on the face of the earth by wearing the masks on Halloween night in front of the TV and find out that the men in the suits are robots and then the young girl turns out to be a robot at the end of the movie.

As you now know this movie is very senseless. What you don't know is that it's senseless from beginning to end. The thing I hated most about this is the title. If this had a more related title to what this movie is about, I would have given this slightly better rating then this, but still a bad rating. Don't see this fake sequel!

there is a point of agreement Rob Zombie handled the michael myers character seriously and realistically which was an appreciated breath of fresh air after michaels throwdown with busta rhymes in halloween resurrection....
though halloween 4: the return of michael myers was the last decent halloween flick till H20

I haven't seen 'Halloween 4' or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 or if there any other sequels to that, though I have seen the brutal and dark Rob Zombie remake which I found to be one of the most nessecary remakes ever made.

they said he woke from a coma in halloween 4... but i was pointing out why halloween 3 had nothing to do with the rest... which was one of your main questions/ arguments against it...

By the way. Yes I knew Micheal Myers was burned to death in the second film. I saw it. I wrote a review about it. I posted it. That's not the point though. The point is that people make endless sequels to slasher that are pure awful and yes they made more sequels to 'Halloween' and Micheal Myers was in them. He must have come back to life or something.

Ok firstly this isn't one of my favorite movies at all. This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Secondly I knew the men in suits were robots. This movie was just odd you could almost laugh at it.

no its not actually... its a cult classic in the horror community though...
as a horror fan and a fan of the halloween series i am familiar with it...
its not top notch stuff or anything... its just easier to follow and better than jakn gives it credit for...

a few points on this i have to comment on

1 it has nothing to do with the previous sequels because the character michael myers died at the end of halloween II the plan was to do a string of movies kind of like tales from the crypt.... different stories with the halloween season as a common theme... when the movie bombed they returned to the myers storyline...

2 no themes were used from previous halloweens... they sound similar though because they were written by john carpenter and a man named alan howarth... carpenter wrote all the music in halloween and collaborated with howarth on halloween II they tried to keep it similar in style to unify the feel of the series

3 the men in suits are one of the stranger points in the story.... they are essentially the robot minions of this irish guy conal cochran who runs silver shamrock... the only time one of the robot guys killed someone it was an old guy and the robot basically pulled his skull apart...

4 cochrans motives are based in an old celtic or druid ritual according to the story... the masks he makes are fitted with a microchip with (one of the dumbest points in the story) a sliver of rock from stonehenge the tones in the tv commercial agitate some supernatural force iin the rock and they kill the wearer in a gruesome manner... anyway the plan is to perform a mass sacrifice on the celtic sabbath samhain by killing most of the children in america (why people would but the same 3 masks is beyond me)
5 the director is tommy lee wallace the production designer on halloween
the look and style of the film resembling the first 2 is a result of this as well as the director of photography dean cudney who did I and II as well john carpenter served as a writer along side wallace as well as being a producer

6 the girl was captured towards the middle of the movie she was killed and replaced with a robot as a way to trick/kill the main character

7 the title being Halloween III: season of the witch.... that was a point of confusion for you? its like terminator 2: judgement day or pirates of the caribbean: at worlds end.... its not somthing i can find a word for but its like a chapter in a book or series... the title itself the movie has nothing to do with witches sure... but season of the witch is just an interesting/intriguing was to say the halloween season... its supposed to sound cool dont real into it too much.... honestly if the movie were only called season of the witch it would have done better financially...

if you feel cheated by the title having no direct relation to the story here is a list of other movies with titles that dont have anything to do with the movie
    dog day afternoon
    a clockwork orange
    american graffiti
    braveheart
    pulp fiction
one flew over the cuckoos nest
    they live
    minority report
    pale rider

though to be fair most horror movies have obvious titles
    friday the 13th
    texas chainsaw massacre
    slumber party massacre
    dawn of the dead
    wishmaster
    hatchet
i know what you did last summer
    zombie lake
    a nightmare on elmstreet
    ghost ship... for gods sake

whatever the movie is better than most people give it credit for and the only reason most dislike it is because they are expecting michael myers and dont get him
