What a half good half bad film! In my opinion, Rob Zombie did a good job delving into the killer's pysche. The idea of Micheal Myers growing up in an abusive home with a drunk, verbally abusive stepfather and a mother who works as a stripper is a very good reason for explaining what turned him into a psychopath. For the fist 45 minutes, I was completely captivated, but began to get disappointed after this point in the film. When it goes back to Haddonfield, it goes tumbling downhill.I must admit that the girl who played Laurie Strode did a very good job.She wasn't as bookwormish as was the original, but she is like your average 17-year old girl in this film. The film was not scary in any way when it went back to Haddonfield, but it was very bloody and was filled with lots of sex and nudity. In my opinion, Zombie should have made it scarier than it was.I mean, the idea of seeing someone watching you and knowing is a little frightening, but none of the death scenes or the scenes where someone escapes were not frightening at all.Take my word for it:the film is good, but its filled with nothing but blood and gore, sex and nudity, and very strong profanity.
