Green Lantern: Synopsis
In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds). Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

((you lantern fans listen...how well do you think they did with explaining the "main" origin material ? )) I haven't read any lantern comics ,i've enjoyed superman and spidermans that stand on their own but when i got to go digging for answers 20 or 50 comics back that anwswer something of the present ,that's just torture for an honest fellow like myself. I must say that i've strangely felt at times like the green lantern is the most interesting of superheros above aqua man and even superman,the green suit,the ring and some of the changes i've heard that have happened over the yrs in the comics ,etc.
The 3d was the best,even though it felt cartoonish at times,i'll go ahead & call that a bonus . The only thing is, I wish someone other than ryan rynalds would have played the part, i felt as though i was going to wake up in a comedy movie at any time and dane cook was going to be wearing the suit saying... surprise i'm the green booger.

there building a justice league w/ the marvel super heros duh ppl first the proof is in the iron man w/ the shield they r in every movie if u think bout it fury visted daredevil first bout shield wb is buildin the best movie ever i think but they r showing us how the heros got started

Brizzy, being a long time fan of GL, I can tell you this is a solid flick and even though it could have been a bit better- I can say that about a lot of films really. And I never listen to critics!

i really enjoyed this one. i didn't know too much about GL going into this (he always seemed like a 2nd tier hero to me) but i really did like the movie. it explained everything well and didn't dive too far into the usual backstory stuff like most hero movies, to the point where its TOO much explanation. and they thankfully toned down the love story garbage to a manageable amount and didnt make it a love story with a hreo element instead of a hero story with a romantic element, which is how it should be. they focused almost totally on hal and his journey to become a hero and his purpose to defeat parallax, and the love story was a side thing. very well done.

I really loved this movie. I wore my ring and tshir! Lots of people are saying it was disappointing but it wasn't. I was exciting,funny,and i was cheering Hal on just like the rest of he crowd. People can say what they want they are just picky. Go see it. Enjoy it. Take.your kids and look at the faces when GL is on they the screen they will be glued. Yes.it is.slow at times but the rest is awesome!

Entertaining popcorn flick but it needed a bit more edge to it, which the sequel could easily fix. Reynolds was solid as Jordan and Lively was perfect eye candy, but the pace was almost too quick for a first film. Overall, a solid effort with some steady laughs, throughout but with a darker tone and a touch more action, it could have been much closer to Thor, who is still the best of the bunch so far in 2011.

I am actually kind of worried now. This seems to be getting mixed to negative reactions from the public. Although i knew that it would probably not be well received, i just wished that i was wrong.
