  • Who's seeing Green Lantern this weekend? I think I may have to skip it. It's getting pretty negative reviews, and compared to how many other movies are coming out this summer, I don't want to waste the money if it turns out to be sh*t. There's just too many movie coming out to take that chance. So I'm interested to see if you're skipping it or taking the chance? To be honest, I had a feeling this would happen, I was just hoping for the best. It's a shame, because GL deserves a great film.

  • I'll see it. Just with lowered expectations. The people I actually trust when it comes to movies have all said it's nowhere near as bad as critics are saying, just doesn't live up to the hype.

  • @cupid Well, I haven't been all too impressed with the footage I've seen...I just didn't want to believe it could be sh*t. It looks okay, but GL is one of my fav heroes, right behind Batman...I should be more pumped for this movie, but I'm not. That says something.

I guess the point is that there's too many movies coming out to waste money on a movie that is getting plenty of negative feedback.

  • I wonder how many of those critics are comic book readers

  • I'm going to watch it but only because I have low expectations and I'm really hoping it turns out to be a good movie.

  • @cupid @bawnian-dexeus I don't get why people are finding it so hard to believe that the critics bashed the hell out of this. You couldn't predict that from the trailers? The CGI looked unfinished, it looked cheesy, it looked devoid of any emotion, and Parallax didn't look intimidating at all. I was keeping an open mind because I wanted it to be good, but really, people? Are you really surprised?

And don't blame it on the fact that the critics have never read a comic before. I'm sure more have than you may think. IGN gave it 2 stars. You think they've never read a comic? lmao Please. And even if they haven't, Thor and X-Men still recieved positive reviews for the most part. Why? Because they're good movies. So I find it hard to believe that they're giving GL a bad score just because they've never read a comic. It's getting bad scores, oh, I don't know, because it might be a bad movie? Just my guess.

@pjwolsker Do you mean "who the f*ck isn't seeing it?" Probably people who aren't loaded in cash and want to spend money on movies that are getting positive feedback. Just a wild guess.

  • I'll probably check it out sometime soon, but I'm saving my money for Transformers and Harry Potter :)

  • I saw it last night and I personally loved it. Was it a little rushed in some areas? Yes. I would have loved to see more of certain parts (wont spoil it for anyone). However I was left satisfied. The parts that may have lacked in this film will be cleaned up and polished in the sequel. I recommend you guys see it if you are a fan.

  • dude! have you seen the reviews! they say it's terrible! it has a 25% rating on the RT :O If i see it, i'll prolly see it for the CGI/visual effects...since I've been told the story is so thinly written... oh well :'(
