While I was watching this movie and when I left I couldn't help but hate this movie, but the more I kept thinking about it the more I wanted to watch it again, and when I saw it again I liked it better the second time. I don't think its the greatest movie ever but it was decent compared to most of the crap I've seen this year most of the action movies I've seen this year anyways. The movie reminded me of how I felt after I first watched Dune I loved it for the visuals and hated it for what it was but I grew to like Dune and I've grown to like Gamer even though Dune and Gamer are two different movies Im just saying I felt the same way after seeing them. Now Gamer is more like one of those old school hard core violent action movies such as Total Recall,RoboCop,The Running Man, Terminator 1 & 2 and Escape from New York it may get a mix bag of people who liked it but I think some fans of the genre might enjoy this for that reason. The movie did feel like a mix bag of those action movies and I did like it for that reason but I wouldn't go so far as to say that Gamer is just as great as those movies but it defiantly has the action and setting of those movies. There were some parts of the movie that dragged on a little to long for me and I just wanted a break of the action for at least 10 minutes but what can you expect from the creators of Crank. The cast was good Gerard Butler was a straight up bad ass running around and just shooting and beating the living crap out of people, and this is as close as I want to see him do Snake Plissken he's a good actor but there should be no remake of that movie but I digress. Michael C. Hall steals the movie with his sadistic charm and his slick charisma and Kyra Sedgwick was good as well. I think its better than the last couple of action sci/fi movies I've seen in a while because movies like The Island,Babylon A.D., Terminator 3, Matrix 2 & 3and the over hyped Terminator Salvation have been a slap in the face to the fans of this genre at least to me anyways.
