@redcameraman -- You really need to do that. Because you just gave an outstanding movie an average score. A rating that movies like "In Time", and "Immortals" deserve.
@moviewiz001 Hhmmm...AMC usually doesn't cut much other than language. Depends on how bad you want to see it. I'd rather wait for the uncut version. Why don't you just watch it online?
@redcameraman -- I understood that, that's why I never insulted you(personally), and refrained from name-calling. Treating you like trash? I'd like you to quote where I came across as doing so.
@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx: I'm just giving my own opinions and you're already treating me like trash. If you want to know my all-time favorite movies so f*cking bad, then just go to my profile and check out my list you f*cking dipsh*t.
@thedude-abides -- Figured. Oh, really, what is it? I thought The Lord Of The Rings trilogy was great, but I need to watch all of them because of my new outlook of film. I haven't seen "The Lovely Bones", but I was very disappointed in "King Kong", but that was like 7-years ago? I also need to see it again, but I don't remember it being terrible.
I think Peter Jackson is a really good, if not great director. But, I still find David Fincher to be better overall. So, I agree with you on that. Ha, I don't get it neither. Maybe because David Fincher is(arguably) praised more than Peter Jackson and directs movies that are not fast-paced?
Think about it, most people(and I mean A LOT) think movie + boring = bad and/or overrated, etc. It may serve as a factor, but you can't completely dismiss a movie because it didn't entertain you. F*ck, I find all of the Transformers movies to be boring, along with all those Box Office hits, and look how much they make!
I have yet to see most of those titles, lol. I've only seen "Titanic"(a decade or so ago) and "There Will Be Blood. Holy sh*t, I couldn't agree more! I think it's absolutely appalling for anyone to think "There Will Be Blood" is over-rated, if anything, it's under-rated! You would think one of(if not THE) best film of the decade would receive more credit, but not in this generation. It infuriates me when people call "The Social Network" and "No Country For Old Men" over-rated, but praise "The Dark Knight" and "Inception", and proclaim it as their favorite movie.
F*ck this generation, man. I'm gradually dismissing audiences positive feedback for movies while blocking the critics. If the critics are right, and I wind up loving the movie, then that's fine, too.
At least the mass know a bad movie when they see one, though - worst movie of (insert year here) lists, along with (some) IMDb ratings allow me to have that once of faith.
@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx But to answer your question, it's probably for the same reason certain people on this site think films like Scarface, Psycho, Gone With the Wind, There Will Be Blood, Titanic, and Braveheart are overrated, then in the same sentence, turn right around and talk about how Predator's a classic. It's complete and utter nonsense, nothing more.
@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Well, he said he likes Peter Jackson, so he'll probably have the Lords movies in there (which I could absolutely tear to pieces because I know something about the Lords movies that makes it impossible for anyone to look at them with the same fervor that is commonly synonymous with them).
Either way, Jackson's not on the same level as Fincher. The Lovely Bones and King Kong were absolute atrocities, and District 9 was Blomkamp's vision, not Jackson's. Everything else he did before Fellowship was a complete waste of time. Not that I have any problem with the movielover, I just don't see how any self-proclaimed lover of movies could dis Fincher and his films, lol.
@thedude-abides -- I'll refrain from doing so, but I'm very interested in his all-time favorites. I wonder why people find this movie overrated, though. I can kind of understand because of the mass praise this movie receives, as it currently holds the title of a cult-classic - but if you're open-minded and willing to observe, you'll find those glorious traits that "Fight Club" beholds and hail it as a huge accomplishment.
The movie is titled "Fight Club" after all. It should've been a movie about mindless, testosterone-filled beatdowns; but it wasn't. There should've never been outstanding performances; but there was. I could go on and on, but if it wasn't for Chuck Palahniuk's brilliant writing, and David Fincher's brilliant vision, that wouldn't have been possible, nor in existent.
@redcameraman -- You must be critically blind, because "Fight Club" flaunts it's originality for the entire duration of its running time. How in the hell was "Fight Club" confusing? It's one of the most simple, elaborate movies I've ever seen!
A stupid twist ending? You're funny! It's one of the best, most brilliant twist I've had the grace to witness. "Fight Club" even went as far as hinting at the twist, but I have yet to find someone that uncovered it before it was revealed.
Out of curiosity, I'd like for you to call out your top-five(if not ten) favorite movies of all-time.
You find David Fincher's style boring? David Fincher has a dark, unique, distinguished direction, and "Fight Club, along with "Se7en", prove that.
I pity your clouded vision, and ultimate judgement.
@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx: For the record, I HAVE seen "Fight Club," "The Social Network," "Benjamin Button," and "Alien 3." I don't see anything cool or special about "Fight Club" at all and it was so f*cking confusing (the stupid twisting ending mostly ruined the movie for me), I find "The Social Network" really boring and I almost fell asleep halfway through it, and "Alien 3" is my least favorite of the "Alien" series, but I did like "Benjamin Button" and that's David Fincher's ONLY good movie to me. And my all-time favorite movies are mostly any movie that's made by my favorite director, Peter Jackson. I grew up watching HIS movies, NOT David Fincher's and I'm glad.
@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I can't wait for The Goon. Fincher isn't directing but he's behind the project and his style is all over the place...so its pretty much his in my eyes lol
@corey -- He probably hasn't seen "Se7en", and "The Social Network". I liked "Zodiac" and "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button", but there not one of my favorites.
I actually thought this movie was just overrated and overhyped, to be very honest. I really don't see anything special about it at all, although I do love Edward Norton.

@redcameraman You should watch Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Easily the best film of 2011 thanks to David Fincher.

@corey If Fight Club comes on today on AMC. Should I watch it, or are there some uncut sequences I should see. I've never seen the movie.
