Fear Dot Com: Review By The CryptKeeper

There are some movies that right from the opening scene, you know it's not going to be good. That is Fear Dot Com. The moment it started, I found my mind and eyes not focused on the screen.

The director is William Malone. He gave us the 1999 version of House on Haunted Hill. The exact same thing happened with that movie. I couldn't stay focused. Not because it was slow and boring, it was just uninteresting. You don't really care about the characters, or what happens next.

Most of the elements of this movie are good. Original plot, nothing wrong with the acting, good visuals, which I will mention in a sec, but the whole movie is just... uninteresting. Wierd, huh. because I said an original plot. I guess original doesn't always mean good.

I will write a whole paragraph on the visuals. They were great! I love how the evil website (feardotcom.com) is presented, with distorted images, dark and ghostly. I also thought the way the whole movie was presented was cool. Dark and creepy. But like I said, still not a good movie.

Be aware- the poster for this movie is freakin' awesome! That doesn't mean the movie is. I got lured in by the DVD cover. I don't want that to happen to you too.
