Darwinism Vs. Creationism, Evolution Vs. Intelligent Design, Science Vs. Religion. EXPELLED is an excellent doc*mentary that captures real troubling facts about today’s persecution. The many atheist scientists trying to shut the mouths of the few scientists who state that in the end, there is a higher power beyond our comprehension who was… responsible for how life got started in the first place. Ben Stein, mostly known as the host of that one game show and the guy on that eye medicine commercial, is also a respected teacher who now, through this movie, proves to be a great researcher. He presents both arguments and aside from Ben’s personal belief, we can clearly see which one that makes more sense.

Morgan Spurlock has a competition and his name is Ben Stein. EXPELLED is doc*mentary at its best. It’s intriguing, thought-provoking and relevant. It’s presented in an interesting manner. It’s not too smart that it’s confusing, it’s not too simple that it’s undermined either.

It’s fun to travel with Ben Stein from one state to another. His visit to France, Germany and the place where Darwin penned his famous Origin of Species book.

The plot is carefully set starting with the background, the concept of freedom, the controversy, the talking heads and interviews, the shocking connection to Nazis, and it all leads to the cool highest point where Ben won an argument against a world renoun Atheist/scientist Richard Dawkins who ends up sounding foolish.

It’s clear to see that Richard Dawkins has a personal issue with God but he claims to make room for some other intelligent design, possibly in a form of aliens. Now that is the one that gets him defeated. That makes him look like a scientist who believes in science fiction. He becomes the victim of his own words.

Some may say that this movie is creationism propaganda. Some may say, shame on Ben Stein for exploiting the holocaust history for his own agenda and this movie. They have the right to their opinions.

I personally believe that science and religion should and can work together.

Don’t accuse me to be a right wing wacko who wants church and state to not be separated.

I’m not, and I think they should remain separated.

What I want is for science and religion to find a way to co-exist. This is the land built on freedom and if one side persecutes the other, then where is the freedom?!

Wouldn’t that be the dark ages all over again? or the WWII repeated but in a different way again?

When religion attacks science and science attacks religion through courts and media, then what are we teaching tomorrow’s generation?! Bickering about whether or not we came from apes or from divinity for the rest of our lives?!

There are more important problems at hand. Present problems that threaten our very own current existence, that threaten our future.

Stop being obsessed with looking into the past and finding out ways to kill your enemy and instead… start figuring out ways to stop hunger, oppression, nuclear war, and prejudism… find ways to stop them through both science and religion!

It is my personal belief that the more we understand science, the more aware we become of the Divine’s handiwork in it. And likewise, the more we study Divinity, the more amazed we become with the complexity and the beauty of life that can be studied and explored for our benefits.

Anything other wise are simply results made by stubborn, close-minded, hateful people.
