Probably the best extreme, provocative ,violent, horror thriller of 2008. Eden Lake is very much a throw back to cult 70s horror thrillers cinema. The movie is extremely violent so if you can't stand to watch something like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Hostel you're better off not watching this movie. I think the number one reason I kept watching this movie is its subject matter of how kids can be just as violent as adults even though the violence in this movie is at times a little gratuitous it works for the movie. The other reason I liked this movie was that it didn't rush to get to the story it setup it's characters in a fare amount of time and it made the movie all the more interesting to watch. It is a true horror movie because of the fact that you are really scared of the people committing these extreme acts of violence and the how they are all pushed to do it by the young gang leader. I think if you really want to see a horror thriller this should be at the top of your list it is a truly brilliant film it is a really intense movie that just kicks you in the balls after you're done watching it.
