This movie is under appreciated by these anime fans that act like CHILDREN. Sure the script from what we see, could have used a bit of work. But the actors are fine, people who complain and say Chatwin does'nt make a good Goku are just ridiculous so biased one way it blinds them... Great job guys, don't let these ridiculous people get you down on it.
The essence of the characters did not remain. Goku was never the type to go chasing after girls. As a matter of fact, he never saw another human being besides his grandfather (who he stepped on as an Oozaru years prior) until he was 12 when he met Bulma. He had trouble telling the difference between genders, which led to some great comedy scenes. All Goku wants to do is train and get stronger.
This sad excuse for Goku is some skinny, wimpy high school kid who freaking cheats at his training and refuses to fight buillies. Goku never went to high school, would never back to down to anybody, and would NEVER EVER cheat at his training.
Sorry, Chatwin...no I'm not sorry...you do not have the look nor the personality of Son Goku in this movie whatsoever. Not once did you remind of Goku.

Justin Chatwin is Goku. The script was not so good but he did a good job :) See ya back for the sequel ;)
