Donnie Darko: Review By Courtney O.

This movie really deserves all five stars...Donnie Darko is one of those films that pushes the boundaries of story telling, beyond time, beyond space and binds one's mystic visions and altered realities with one's waking world in a very beautiful, simple and yet contemporary way.

And this movie isn't also set to hold your hand. That's what I like about it. It asks a lot of questions, and presents ideas and dilemmas rather than solving them. And nothing feels contrived. It's not trying to be some hip, wacked out psycho trip movie. It is very authentic and subtle and brings the audience into an interesting and beautiful state of between moments, where neither the question nor the answer are readily identifiable--just a state of wonder. And it's great!
