People have a huge problem with this movie, for its soul story, look, and the way it is helmed by Richard Kelly, who intensifies the audiences senses, and the way we see things, it is a mixture between dreams/supernatrual dewelings, so so filmed.

Truly this film has me in awe.

I first descovered this film when i was young, it was on box office on televesion, i had no true care, as i was young and less understanding and passionate about movies, more or less i loved the prequels to Star Wars which to my knowledge now is the worst possible thing i could have done.

But the years past and i saw this on the shelf of my local HMV store, so i thought might as well buy it, and once it started i thought, this is my sought of film.

So

Story: Troubled, but smart, talented Donnie Darko is haunted within his mind, is shrouded in mystery and is soon plagued by terriying visions, and soon is trying all his best to cast these ghostly images away, of a bunny rabbit, that is sort of metallic, sort of queer, in design and texture, a man dressed as a rabbit, in the mirror, everytime he looks. Dreams, postions he is put into are deadly, soon he tries to unravel this daunting evil spirit that lurks within his mind, but is it his mind, thats what masterful director Richard Kelly is trying to sum up in the audiences, and ours, and my mind, is it a soul astranged boys bearings of the world, or is it a true physical being haunting him. Strange occurences in school, and of his nature and well being and is affecting his home life and is all in the form on this creature only known as a cruel horrifying spectre only named as "Frank" whos is pulling Doonie into insanity.

The directors cut this version is, how it is i have no idea but it has so called never before seen footage and beeter visuals and a better recorded soundtrack, maybe it is hated for the original cut i dont know, do i care no.

This is a great thought provoking talented cast full of thrills and spills and a knew director to love. Fellow up films SOUTHLAND TALES And The Box is truly also Richards great achievements.
