  • While Dirty Dancing is currently being rewritten by Glee creator Brad Falchiuk.

But new reports are clamouring that the lead is already in negotiations and the shortlist has already been brought in with the following 3 dazzling young ladies set for the lead role.

Rihanna - After taking no balls barred in Battleship. Rihanna has been offered some interesting roles to start off her premature acting career, including playing Whitney Houston in a brand new biopic... But it seems she is now also a headrunner for the following remake and anyone that knows Rihanna's career, knows she got the moves for this.

The sexy-senorita who started off as a music-video chica has officially started her solo career with such hits as 'Hot Right Now' and the newly released 'R.I.P.' Which was intially intended for RiRi, but came to Rita, who has previously being hailed and praised by Music Mogul, Jay-Z...Could Rita be the sexy senorita for Dirty Dancing?

Now last but least and probably the most traditional head runner to be part of the project and the newest member to Liongates family... Jennifer Lawrence. Who bears the most resemblance to the original beauty, but is she ready to bust a move?

AS WELL WHO COULD PLAY THE MALE LEAD, IN REPLACEMENT OF THE LATE SWAYZE?

  • Pfft, dazzling isn't a word I'd use for Rhianna

  • @bawnian-dexeus lol, well you can't say Lawrence isn't dazzling... But none to say the least, all three of these ladies are smoking hot.

  • Meh, I'm actually ok with the original, hell, I remember trying to make the jumo from the stage that Patrick made famous when I was kid (good times), so I really don't care about this glee remake

  • @bawnian-dexeus Ditto here, haha I had to do it once because we did a play to Dirty Dancing :)

And I think everyone tried to do that move when they were younger, it's like how everyone danced to MJ in front of the TV set when they were a kid.

  • @jayaottley Exactly! There's a cult thing to it.

  • Its being tweeted on twitter, and this does seem good enough to be real, especially when Rita Ora mentioned she has received an interest to be in the film as the lead role. @gallagher

Also this was just tweeted to me about Aronofsky Noah being given a March 28th 2014 release date

Paramount Pictures and New Regency have announced a March 28, 2014 release date for Noah. The film is directed by Black Swan's Darren Aronofsky. Russell Crowe, as Deadline first reported, will star as the Biblical builder of the Great Ark. The film reunites the Oscar winning actor with New Regency, which made LA Confidential with Crowe back in 1997, and with writer John Logan, who penned 2000's Gladiator. After initial work by Aronofsky and Ari Handel, Logan rewrote the Noah script.

  • @gallagher The Noah one is from Deadline.

The Rita Ora one is from a TV interview in which she has stated she wants to expand her career and go into acting, and that she is in talks to be in Dirty Dancing. I did some research and it seems the other 2 actresses are top candidates as well, which came from a London paper called 'The Metro'
  • Is there a link to that story on The Metro's website?

  • I don't think so, yet... It was in the Guilty Pleasures section which is the media area of the paper written by some Adrian guy, forgot his surname.

But his article, was basically Rihanna talking about film roles she is in talks for mainly the Whitney biopic, but she also mentions Dirty Dancing

  • And that article also mentions Jennifer Lawrence?
  • @gallagher As well as her new flick, Battleship, which she had an extensive training regiment for and working with Taylor

  • @gallagher well Lawrence stated in an interview that she was interested in the role but is unsure whether, she would be able to do it due to her 2012 schedule. But she also stated at the UK premiere to THG, that she had been offered the role.
