Based on the comic Dick Tracy delivers with an amazing cast with Warren Beatty as the title role who plays the detective who will inforce the law and get his man no matter what. But the real heavy hitter is Al Pacino as Big Boy Caprice who gives the what i would say with any other actor the performance of their career but we are talking about Al here. He does not just play Big Boy but he owns that role with a flamboyant performance. It also features great solid roles by Madonna and William Forsythe as the memorable role as flattop. Besides the acting the real role player was the costuming and set design. Which is why it was nominated for both winning with art direction and makeup. This film really puts you in this world of color and late 1900's action with big cars, trench coats, and tommy guns. This is a must and is a stable of creative ganster movies.
